Gone But Not Forgotten
Naomi Sims, the first black super model to be on the cover of a magazine in 1968, who went on to grace the covers of numerous magazines & fashion layouts with her beautiful face & long limbs, died over the weekend at her home in Newark, New Jersey at the age of 61. After retiring from modeling, she became a successful business woman creating wigs & cosmetics for black women along with becoming the author of several books on beauty, in addition to her well known advice column for young girls.
